Tokyo Ghoul

Tokyo GhoulTokyo Ghoul (Japanese: 東京喰種トーキョーグール Hepburn: Tōkyō Gūru) is a manga series by Sui Ishida. It was serialized in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump between September 2011 and September 2014 and has been collected in fourteen tankōbon volumes as of August 2014.

Ghouls are lurking in Tokyo to hunt and devour human flesh. One day, the main character Kaneki was hunt by a Ghoul and transformed into a "half-Ghoul". His agony since then is similar to the Wolfman's. "Ghoul" sends chills up our spine as "Dracula" did. But this story is something different from these classics.

Here we found that his agony is not so important for this story while Wolhman's mourning or downfall of the nobleman Count Dracula were proper functions of classics. On the other hand, it is not as simplistic as science fiction action thriller "District 9" in 2009.

What terrifies us most is that the title of this manga is not Kaneki but the real city Tokyo that seems functioning properly.
