Toson Simazaki
Toson Simazaki (島崎 藤村 Simazaki Toson, 25 March 1872 – 22 August 1943)
Melancholy English teacher
While working as an English teacher, he began composing romantic poetry.
Later, he turned a novelist and his first novel printed privately soon went out of stock and won critical acclaim.
He wrote some novels after that and was regarded as the leading author of naturalism in Japanese fiction.
